Horses walk into fences they cannot see, and so do people carrying a pail in the dark. Yellow insulators mark the wire height on every post, which is why they end up on horse paddocks, cross fences and any line that gets opened and closed regularly. Twenty-five to a pack. Each one screws onto the face of a standard T-post and holds under compression rather than a pin or a clip, and Patriot's listing covers wire, politape, poliwire and polirope. Treat it as a line insulator: it is not intended for corners, ends or high-tensile wire. On a cross fence you will be walking daily, put them where you can reach the wire from either side without leaning over the top strand. If you run more than one hot wire, keep the spacing consistent from post to post so stock learn one fence, not three different ones. Mixing colours is worth considering. Yellow on the strand you handle and a darker insulator on the rest keeps the working wire obvious without turning the whole fence into a hazard stripe.
