The Patriot P-series energizers are dual-power units: they will run off 110-volt mains or off a 12-volt battery, and each way needs its own lead. This is the 12-volt side, the cord that connects the energizer to a deep-cycle battery. If yours went missing over winter, got chewed, or came apart at the clamps, this replaces it rather than forcing you to replace the energizer. That matters on a lot of western Canadian operations, because the fence that needs power is usually the one nowhere near a plug. Community pasture, a rented quarter, bush pasture, a temporary cross-fence for rotational grazing - all of it runs off a battery, often paired with a solar panel and regulator. Fits the P5, P10, P20 and P30. When you hook up, get the polarity right, keep the battery out of the weather and off bare ground, and check the connections at the clamps once in a while. Corroded battery terminals are one of the most common reasons a fence quietly loses voltage, and keeping a spare lead on hand is cheap insurance mid-season.
