This is the piece most people are missing when their tape fence tests strong at the energizer and weak at the far end. Polytape conducts through fine stainless filaments woven into the webbing. Tie a knot in it and you crush those filaments, and the current has to jump a gap that only gets worse as the joint works in the wind. The joiner buckle threads the tape through slots and folds it back on itself, clamping flat across the full width so every conductor stays in contact with the next section of tape. It also holds the mechanical load properly, which matters on a long run that is going to see frost heave, wind and the odd animal leaning on it. Use these for mid-line splices, for repairs where a section has been broken or chewed, and at corners and ends where tape terminates and doubles back through an insulator. Three per pack, and worth having a spare set in the fence kit, since tape damage rarely happens close to the yard or in good weather.
