Not every fence line needs to announce itself. Black insulators disappear against a treeline or a dark rail fence, which matters on a yard fence or a paddock close to the house where a row of bright yellow plastic looks out of place. Twenty-five per pack. The insulator screws onto the front of a standard T-post and clamps down under compression, so there is nothing to lose in the grass and no pin to work loose. Patriot lists it for poliwire, polirope and steel or aluminium wire, and it also fits metal pipe posts. It is a line insulator, not a corner or end fitting, and it is not rated for high-tensile wire. Set them at the same height on every post before you run any conductor, working off a string line or a marked stick rather than eyeballing it. Snug them by hand until the jaws close on the post; over-tightening with a driver can strip the thread on cold plastic. For corners, ends and anywhere the wire changes direction, use a proper strain insulator instead.
