Patriot replacement module for ps15 and solarguard 155
The replacement energizer module for the PS15 and SolarGuard 155, for units where the electronics have quit but the housing is sound.
Details
Sometimes the pulse stops and the battery and panel are both fine. Lightning is the usual culprit on the prairie, because a strike anywhere near a long fence line sends a surge back up the wire, and a near miss can take out the electronics while leaving the case, panel and battery untouched. This module is the internal energizer assembly for the PS15 and SolarGuard 155. Swapping it is a rebuild rather than a repair: the guts come out, the new module goes in, and you have a working unit again without buying a whole new energizer or discarding a good battery and panel. Before you fit it, work out why the old one failed. If a surge came in on the fence, the same thing happens again next storm season, so it is worth checking that the ground field is genuinely good. A properly grounded fence with enough rods gives a surge somewhere to go besides through your energizer. It is no guarantee against a direct hit, but it is the difference between replacing a module once in a while and replacing one every summer.
