Details
The solar panel and facia is the part of a portable energizer that takes all the abuse. It faces the weather every day of its life, and out here that means hail, blowing grit, ice, and the occasional knock from a horse or a passing implement. The electronics inside are often perfectly sound long after the panel has been cracked or hazed to the point where it no longer charges properly. This is the replacement front assembly for the PS15, panel and facia together. Fitting it is a straightforward job with hand tools, and it puts a unit back into service that would otherwise be scrap sitting on a shelf in the shop. If the unit has been running weak, replace the panel and check the battery at the same time. A panel that has lost output slowly cooks a battery through repeated deep discharge, so the two failures tend to arrive together. A tired battery will make a brand new panel look like it fixed nothing.
