A corner is where an electric fence gets tested. The wire wants to pull straight, the post wants to stay put, and whatever sits between them takes the difference. A bobbin insulator handles that by letting the conductor wrap around a rounded body instead of bending hard over a fixed point, so the load spreads and the wire is not being sawed at one spot every time the temperature moves.
