A hot wire at the very top of a T-post is the one that stops a horse leaning over a fence and the one a cow tests first. It is also the one that has to be seen, and on a steel post line there is nothing else up there to catch the eye. The yellow topper does both jobs from one fitting. It pushes onto the top of a standard T-post, covering the cut steel edge, and the channel takes the conductor at the top of the post: poliwire, polirope or braid, politape in 12 mm (1/2 inch) or 40 mm (1.5 inch), and coated or sighter wire. Ten per pack in UV-stable polyethylene, SKU 819728. It is a line fitting and not for corners, ends or high-tensile runs. Those points take the tension of the fence and need a strain insulator underneath them. Choose yellow where the fence crosses a path, borders a yard, or divides paddocks people ride through. Where the fence is a boundary line and you would rather it disappeared into the bush, the white version does the same job less loudly.
