Everybody who has run electric fence has taken one through the arm reaching for a gate handle in the rain. A handle with an exposed metal shank or a cracked grip will find the wet skin on your wrist, and after that happens once, people start leaving the gate open. The no-kick handle is insulated along its length, in UV-stabilised yellow plastic, so the current stays in the conductor rather than in your hand. Patriot lists it for polywire, polyrope, polytape and steel or aluminium wire, part 810838, and this is the ten-pack. Ten handles is a working quantity rather than a spare. On a rotational system there is a gate at every paddock division, and the handle is the part that gets stepped on, driven over and dropped in the mud, so having replacements on hand beats improvising with wire. Anchor the far end of the gateway on an insulated anchor rather than a nail, and hang the handle so the hook faces down. A hook facing up catches a sleeve every time you walk past it.
