The top of a T-post is a hazard nobody thinks about until somebody catches a hand on one. Horses roll into them, kids climb through fences, and a post cut off at chest height in tall grass is hard to see. The steel edge is thin enough to open a gash. These are protective caps and nothing else. They push onto the top of most standard T-post styles and sizes, no tools required, and the fit is tight enough that they stay put. Unlike a T-post topper, a safety cap does not hold or insulate a conductor. If the top of your post needs to carry a hot wire as well as be covered, the topper is the fitting you want instead. Prioritise them where people and animals actually come into contact with the fence: around corrals, along riding paddocks, at gateways and anywhere a fence runs near a yard. Capping every post on a quarter section is rarely the best use of a ten-pack.
