Patriot T-post politape corner/end strain insulator

Corners and dead ends are where polytape fences come apart. A line insulator only has to stop the tape touching the post; a corner has to hold the full tension of the run, and tape that is pinched over a sharp edge or a plain wire loop will fray and then part, usually on the coldest morning of the year. This one is built for that job on a steel T-post. The bracket clamps to the post and the insulated body carries politape up to 40 mm (1.5 inches) wide, spreading the load across the full width of the tape rather than concentrating it on one edge. Patriot lists it as part 824729 with a five-year warranty, and it is sold singly, so count your corners and ends before ordering. Use one at every direction change and at both terminations of a run. Where a corner turns sharply, two insulators on adjacent posts will handle the pull better than forcing one post to take the whole angle. Feed the tape through, double it back on itself and pull the tension out of the run before you tie off, so the tape sits flat in the insulator instead of twisting.
