Colour is the whole difference here, and it matters more than people expect. A white post stands out against green pasture, against stubble and against dark bush, so a temporary line is obvious to the cattle you just moved and to whoever is coming through on a quad. Stock that can see a new fence settle behind it a great deal faster. White helps you too. When you are picking a temporary fence up at the end of a rotation, a white post is easy to spot in tall grass, and you leave fewer of them behind in the field.
