Patriot rope/braid to rope/braid connector
The in-line fitting for joining two lengths of polirope or braid so the splice carries current as well as the rope itself does.
Details
Sooner or later you run out of rope halfway down a fence line, or a section gets broken by a falling limb, a vehicle, or a horse that misjudged the gap. This connector joins two lengths properly, clamping both ends so the woven conductors carry current across the splice instead of relying on whatever contact a knot happens to make. The difference shows up as voltage. A knotted splice is a resistor sitting in the middle of your fence, and its resistance changes with temperature and moisture, which is why a fence full of knots tests one way on a wet morning and another on a dry afternoon. A clamped connector gives you the same reading in both. Keep a couple in the fencing box. Repairs happen at inconvenient times, usually with stock already out and the light going, and the temptation is to tie a knot and promise yourself you will come back and do it right. You will not. Having a connector on hand means the quick fix and the proper fix are the same job.
