Details
The PE10B is the battery version of the same output: 0.3 joules, with a Patriot rating of up to 10 miles of fence or 40 acres. It runs on either a 6 volt or a 12 volt battery, which gives you some latitude in what you feed it depending on what you already have on the place. Choose this one over the plug-in when the fence is not near power. A back paddock, a stretch of temporary fence across a field, a pen set up at a dugout, or a property where running a cord to the fence line is not practical. Being battery driven, it goes wherever the job is and comes home when the season ends. Low impedance design with an LED indicator, portable and low maintenance. The trade for that freedom is that you have to watch the battery, particularly in cold weather when capacity drops right when you least want it to. Get in the habit of checking fence voltage with a tester rather than trusting the light, and keep a charged spare battery in the shop through the winter months.
