Details
Half a joule of output from 0.7 stored joules, rated by Patriot at up to 15 miles or 60 acres. The smallest of the P-series, and the one Patriot points at smaller applications, strip grazing and portable fencing. What makes it worth having over a plain battery unit is the dual power. It plugs into a 110 volt outlet at the home place and runs off a 12 volt battery out in a field, with the adaptor and the battery leads both included, and it takes a solar panel for pastures with no service. For anyone running a rotational grazing system, that means one energizer that follows the herd rather than a permanent unit at the yard and a second one for temporary work. Low impedance, LED indicator, and a three-year warranty from Patriot that includes lightning damage. Be honest with yourself about the scale before you buy: the mileage rating assumes clean wire and a sound ground system, and if you are fencing a large or heavily grown-in run, size up rather than hope. An undersized energizer teaches stock that the fence does not hurt, and that lesson is hard to undo.
