Patriot P10 dual purpose fence charger (12v/110v)

Details
The P10 puts out 1.0 joule from 1.3 stored joules, and Patriot rates it for up to 30 miles of fence or 100 acres. That covers a good many acreages and small cattle operations, a set of horse paddocks, or a rotational grazing system on a quarter section. The dual-purpose part is what makes it useful out here. It runs on 110 volt household power where you have it, and on a 12 volt battery where you do not, with both the power adaptor and the battery leads in the box. It is also solar compatible, so a remote pasture with no service can run the same unit off a panel and a deep-cycle battery. That flexibility means the energizer you buy for the home place still works when you move it to a summer pasture with no power for miles. It is a low impedance design with an LED indicator on the front. Patriot backs it with a three-year warranty that includes lightning damage. Treat the acreage and mileage figures as ideal-condition ratings: heavy vegetation on the wire, poor grounding, or a lot of joints will pull real performance below them.
