Patriot ground rod clamp
A clamp that makes a solid, removable connection between your ground wire and the ground rod driven into the earth.
Details
Half the electric fence problems people bring to the counter are grounding problems, and a fair share of those come down to a poor connection at the rod. A wire wrapped around a ground rod looks fine and reads fine on a dry day in June. Come freeze-up, when the connection has corroded and the soil has gone hard, that same joint is costing you most of your shock. A ground rod clamp bolts the earth wire to the rod with proper clamping force and real contact area. It stays tight, it stays conductive, and you can undo it when you need to test or add another rod to the array. That last part matters here. Frozen and dry soil conducts poorly, so a system that grounds adequately in wet spring conditions can go weak in January exactly when cattle have the heaviest coats and need the hardest hit. The usual answer is more ground rods, spaced out and tied together, and every one of them wants a clamp rather than a wrap. Buy one per rod and check them when you check the fence.
