Details
Every gate sags eventually. The post moves with frost, the gate takes the weight of somebody climbing it, and before long the latch end is dropping and you are lifting a hundred and fifty pounds of steel every time you go through. A gate wheel puts that weight on the ground and lets the gate roll. It makes a heavy gate easy to open one-handed, which is the whole point when you have got a bucket in the other hand or you are trying to hold a gate and a horse at the same time. It also takes the load off the hinge post, which is what was pulling the gate out of square in the first place, so the gate stays hung properly for longer. Mounting hardware is included and the whole thing is zinc coated for life outdoors. Worth fitting on long gates, on gates in soft ground that heaves, and on any gate that gets used several times a day. Patriot backs it with a one-year warranty.
