Patriot crimp sleeves 3-4 (10 pack)

This is the heavier sleeve, the 3-4 size, for wire thicker than the usual 12.5 gauge high-tensile. Patriot rates it for 10 and 11 gauge smooth wire, and also for 14 and 15 gauge barbed wire. Ten to a pack. The barbed wire application is the one that surprises people. Plenty of fence on older places is barbed, and when a strand goes it usually gets tied back together with a wrap and a prayer. A crimped joint holds better, sits flatter, and does not leave a spur of wire waiting to catch an animal or your glove. If you have added a hot offset to that barbed fence, a proper crimp also keeps the electrical path clean. Match the sleeve to the wire and do not force a heavier wire into a smaller sleeve. An undersized crimp does not close properly on the metal and gives you a joint that looks finished and is not. Use a crimping tool sized for these sleeves and check each one by hand before moving down the line.
