The 2-3 sleeve fits 12.5 gauge, which covers most high-tensile fence built in this part of the country. Twenty-five to a pack is the repair and maintenance quantity, the one to keep in the fencing box on the truck rather than the one you order for a build. That is where it gets used. A wire broken by a moose in the night, a splice where a tree came down over the line, a jumper tied in after you added a leg of cross-fence. Each of those is a joint, and each joint is either done right or it becomes the reason your voltage reads low next spring. Crimping beats twisting for two reasons. It holds close to the strength of the wire itself, which matters when the run is under tension and the ground is heaving. And it keeps a clean metal contact that does not corrode open, so no voltage is lost across the joint. Set them with a crimping tool, not pliers, and tug each one before you walk on.
