Patriot crimp sleeves 1-2 (25 pack)
Twenty-five crimp sleeves for joining 14 to 16 gauge wire, giving a mechanical and electrical connection stronger than any knot.
Details
A twisted joint in a fence wire is a joint that will fail. Not right away, but the twist works loose with every temperature swing, and the contact surface corrodes until it is a resistance point that eats voltage. Crimping fixes both problems at once. The sleeve holds the wire mechanically at close to full strength and keeps a gas-tight metal-to-metal contact that does not degrade. These are the 1-2 size, sized for 14 to 16 gauge wire. Twenty-five to a pack. You feed both wire ends through the sleeve, set it with a crimping tool, and the joint is done. Anywhere you splice a broken wire, tie a jumper into a live line, or join a new roll onto an old one, a crimp is the right way to do it. This matters more on electric fence than on plain wire, because every poor joint on the run is a small voltage drop, and a dozen of them on a long line is the difference between a fence that turns cattle and one that they learn to walk through.
