Bears do not test a fence politely. This kit is built to turn one on first contact: positive and negative netting, 40 inches high and 50 feet long, carrying its own return path through alternating strands. That matters on dry, frozen or gravelly ground, where a conventional earth return goes weak at exactly the wrong time. An animal touching a live and a return strand together completes the circuit no matter what the soil is doing. The kit comes with corner stakes, a T-handle ground rod, fence and ground connectors, a repair kit and a fence light tester. It goes up and comes down quickly, which is the point. It is meant to move to whatever needs protecting: beehives, a grain bin, garbage and compost, fruit trees, a feed cache, or a small camp. Patriot notes it meets the USDA Food Storage Act requirement when run off a PB12 or AN90 energizer or larger. The energizer is not part of the kit. Match one to the netting and check it with the supplied tester before you walk away, because a bear fence that is not hot is just netting.
