Patriot backside t-post extender - 5" (Yellow)
A yellow t-post insulator that holds a hot wire 5 inches off the back side of the post, for offsetting a wire on the far side of an existing fence.

Sometimes the offset wire has to go on the far side of the post from where the fence hardware sits - a fence with pasture on both sides, a shared line where the pressure is coming from the neighbour's side, or a run of t-posts driven with the studs facing the wrong way for the paddock you are using now. This extender holds a hot wire 5 inches off the back side of a standard t-post and saves you pulling posts. Five inches puts the wire far enough out that stock meet it before they reach the fence itself, which is what stops a barbed or page wire fence from getting pushed apart over a season. It also keeps the live wire well clear of the steel post, so you are not losing current down a wet or snow-packed post in spring. Yellow makes the wire line easy to pick out when you are checking fence, and gives anyone on foot fair warning. It wraps on by hand without tools and accepts poliwire, polytape, aluminum or steel wire.
