Patriot 3 hole wire twister tool
A simple three-hole tool for twisting fence wire into a clean, tight termination at the end of a run - works with wire up to 8 gauge.
Details
Twisting wire by hand with pliers gives you a loose, uneven wrap that works its way apart and turns into a high-resistance connection. This tool gives you the leverage to do it properly. Feed the wire through the holes, turn the tool, and it winds several tight, even twists in seconds. Where you use it is at the ends of a fence line, terminating a wire back on itself around a strainer, an insulator or a post, and anywhere you need a solid mechanical wrap. It handles up to 8 gauge, so it covers everything from light 17 gauge hot wire up to heavy high-tensile. On an electric fence, a tidy termination matters for more than looks. A loose wrap moves with wind and frost, and every bit of movement works oxide into the joint until the connection goes resistive and the fence loses voltage. A few seconds of tool time at each end saves you walking the line with a fault finder in February. It is cheap, it lives in the fence bucket, and it does not need anything but your hands.
