Cattle
Syringes and Needles
Pipestone Farm Supply lists the syringes, needles and small instruments a cattle operation goes through during processing and calving. Cattle Boss supplies most of the page: aluminum-hub needles in a range of gauges and lengths, sterile disposable needles, luer-lock nylon syringes with a dosing nut plus replacement O-rings, a feeding nozzle, Buhner needles in 8 and 12 inch lengths, and disposable scalpels, scalpel blades and folding and fixed scalpel handles. For repeat dosing there are Simcro STF 2 mL and 5 mL syringes and the Simcro VS bottle-mount and tube-fed injectors, Prima Shot repeater syringes with replacement nuts, and Prodigy metal-handle repeater syringes. An Ideal catheter-tip syringe, a Springer Magrath transfer needle and an IVS plastic syringe with dose nut complete the list. Follow the product label of whatever you are administering, change needles as your veterinarian or the label directs, and dispose of sharps properly. For needle gauge and length by animal weight and route, the 10 mL-per-site limit and when to change needles, see our guide Cattle Needle Size Chart: Gauge, Length, Syringes and Injection Sites. Dewormers and pour-ons and calving supplies are on their own pages.
