Not every job suits a needle guard. On thin-skinned or small stock, or where the injection has to be placed by feel in a confined space, the guard can be more hindrance than help. This assembly is the alternative front end for the VS injector, running the same handle without the guard mechanism. It is a configuration part for the VS range and fits nothing else, as the Premium, Compact, Optimiser and Sekurus bodies are separate systems. Swapping to it does not change the dose chamber or the handle, so a gun set up with a 2 mL chamber stays a 2 mL gun. What changes is the exposed needle and the technique that goes with it, and that is worth thinking through before making the swap on a crew used to the guard. Treat this as a rebuild part rather than a consumable. It goes on once and stays on until the job changes, and it should not need replacing on a schedule. Keep the guarded assembly rather than discarding it, because it swaps back easily when the work changes and costs nothing to keep in the box.
