Stepping up to a 5 mL barrel changes the feel of a bottle-mount gun. There is more resistance on the trigger and more weight swinging on the collar, so the way you hold it matters more than it does with the small barrels. That is worth a few practice strokes before the first animal rather than discovering it in the race. The barrel is 5 mL with a selectable dose collar, and the bottle mounts directly on the gun rather than feeding through a tube. That suits the operator working alone in a crowded pen more than it suits a long day on a static chute, where a tube-fed gun would take the bottle weight off the wrist. Keep the collar tight, and change to a fresh bottle before the old one runs low enough for the pickup to start drawing air. Cleaning is the usual routine: barrel off, warm water through, parts dried before reassembly, and O-rings replaced when the plunger starts to feel loose.
