Much of the forage base across the Prairies is low in selenium. That is a soil fact rather than a marketing line, and it is the reason this particular combination gets fed as widely as it does out here. Vitamin E and selenium work together, which is why they are supplemented together rather than separately. A 4.54 kilogram tub, fed according to the directions on the label. Read this part properly. Selenium has a narrow margin between adequate and excessive, and over supplementing is genuinely harmful to horses rather than merely wasteful. Before you add this, account for the selenium your horse is already getting from a fortified concentrate, a ration balancer or a loose mineral, because those sources add up and the total is what matters. If you do not know what your horse is currently receiving, that is worth establishing before you buy anything. Your veterinarian can look at the whole ration, and in some cases a blood test is the sensible way to find out rather than assuming. Feed strictly to label.
