Details
Some horses do not switch off. Not dangerous, just wound tight: the one that jigs the whole trail, will not stand quietly at the trailer, or comes back from a week off with more energy than sense. Ease Up is a powder the maker describes as helping maintain the normal disposition of the horse, allowing for more relaxed behaviour. The ingredient list runs to L-taurine, tryptophan, magnesium proteinate, GABA, thiamine HCl and distillers grain. The stated dose is 25 grams daily, roughly one scoop. Mix it into grain. Calming supplements are individual, so give it a fair run of consistent daily feeding before deciding whether it is doing anything, and change one thing at a time so you can tell what caused what. If you compete, read the ingredient list against your association's rules before you start. Several governing bodies restrict tryptophan and GABA.
