Strictly Equine barrier 4.54kg
The large tub of the garlic, grape seed and diatomaceous earth powder, for barns feeding it to more than one horse.
Details
Anything fed daily right through the summer gets bought by the tub rather than the bag. At the maintenance rate a single horse works through a surprising amount over a season, and a barn with several goes through it a good deal faster. The formula is garlic-led, combined with grape seed meal, distillers grains, diatomaceous earth and thiamine B-1. The label gives 3,600 mg garlic, 600 mg grape seed, 600 mg diatomaceous earth, 300 mg thiamine and 4,500 mg calcium carbonate in each 30 gram dose. Introduce it at 30 grams daily for two to three weeks so the horse accepts the taste, then drop to a minimum of 15 grams a day. The scoop is about 15 grams. Mixed into grain is the usual route, and garlic is strong enough that a fussy horse may need it worked in gradually rather than dumped on top. Keep the lid seated and the tub out of the damp. Garlic powder takes up moisture and cakes, and a caked tub is hard to dose accurately.
