Speedrite switch cover assembly (6000, 6000i)
The switch cover assembly that fits the Speedrite 6000 and 6000i unigizers, a service part for a cracked or brittle cover.
Details
A cracked switch cover is the kind of fault that gets ignored until it is not one. The unit still works, so it stays on the wall, and then a season of sun, frost and blowing snow gets inside the case and takes the electronics with it. This assembly fits the Speedrite 6000 and the 6000i. Both are 9 joule stored, 6 joule output unigizers, rated by Speedrite at 97 hectares (240 acres) or 96 km (60 miles) of fence under ideal conditions, and both will run from mains, a 12 volt battery or solar. The 6000i is the version with the LCD voltage readout, ground monitoring and the remote, but the housing is shared. Order by model rather than by appearance. The 1000, 2000 and 3000 use a different switch cover assembly, and fitting the wrong one leaves gaps in exactly the place you were trying to seal. If the cover has failed because the unit sits in weather, consider moving it while you have it down. An energizer under a roof or inside a box outlasts one bolted to a fence post by a wide margin.
