Extreme Tape carries six tinned copper strands woven through 12 mm poly tape. Speedrite rates it at 106 times more conductive than standard politape, and that is the whole point of it. Ordinary stainless tape loses voltage quickly over distance, so a fence that tests fine at the energizer can be barely alive at the far end of a paddock. The 660 foot roll is a practical size for horse paddocks, corral panels, calving pens and single strip fences. Tape is easy for horses to see and respect, and the white with red weave shows up well against snow and dry grass. It is UV stabilised, so it holds up through the summer sun and the freeze-thaw cycling that shreds cheaper tape. Tension it by hand off a reel rather than cranking it. Tape needs a little slack so wind and cold can move it without tearing the weave or pulling posts. Use tape insulators at ends and corners so the copper strands are supported rather than crushed, and join runs with tape buckles so you keep the conductor path continuous.
