Details
The main module is the working heart of a Speedrite 12000i unigizer — the electronics package and front cover that carry the display, the indicator lights and the controls. Speedrite builds these units so the module can be replaced as a unit rather than sending the whole energizer away, which is a real advantage when you are a long way from a service depot. Energizer electronics fail for a few predictable reasons out here: a lightning strike coming back down the fence line, a serious surge through the mains, or water getting past a damaged case. If your 12000i has no output at all, or the display has gone dark or nonsensical while the power supply tests good, the main module is the likely culprit. Before you order, confirm this is the right part against the model and serial plate on your energizer, since the 6000, 6000i, 12000i and 18000i each take their own module and they are not interchangeable. If the unit failed after a storm, also check your ground system and consider fitting lightning diverters — replacing a module without fixing what killed it is a short-term solution.
