Details
Speedrite unigizers run on mains power through an external adaptor rather than a cord built into the case. This is the replacement adaptor for the 1000, 2000 and 3000 models. It plugs into a standard 110-volt outlet and feeds the energizer, and it is a separate part precisely so it can be replaced when it fails without touching the energizer itself. The adaptor is the part most likely to give out. It sits outside the sealed case, so it takes the weather, the mice, and the pulling that happens every time somebody moves the unit. The usual symptom is an energizer that is dead on mains but pulses normally when you clip it to a 12-volt battery. That points at the adaptor, not the main module. If your unigizer lives in a pump house, a granary or an unheated shop, a spare adaptor on the shelf is cheap insurance. Confirm the model of your energizer before ordering, since the larger 6000, 12000 and 18000 units take a different adaptor and the two are not interchangeable.
