Speedrite side fixing steel standoff - 6.7" 20/bx
Twenty steel side-fixing standoffs at 6.7 inches, a shorter offset for tighter situations and lighter stock.
Details
The 6.7 inch standoff does the same job as the long version in less space. It hangs the live wire clear of the fence and keeps stock from touching the fence itself, but with a shorter arm and less leverage working on the mounting screws. Shorter is the right choice more often than people assume. On a narrow lane where a ten inch offset would cut the working width, along a driveway or a yard fence where a long arm is something to catch a mirror on, or with horses and sheep that do not push the way cattle do, the shorter arm is easier to live with and less likely to be bent by a passing tractor. Twenty to a box suits a shorter run or a specific problem stretch rather than a whole fence. Mount them on the stock side, set the height for the animal you are actually containing, and keep the run of them level. A wire that wanders up and down between standoffs looks untidy and gives stock a low spot to test. Where they cross a gateway, take the wire underground rather than trying to carry it around on offsets.
