Speedrite rear case (6000, 6000i)
A replacement rear case for the Speedrite 6000 and 6000i, the larger housing used on those energizers.
Details
The 6000 series uses a bigger case than the smaller units and it is a separate part. If the rear housing on a 6000 is cracked, split at a mounting point, or has been broken open, this restores the unit to a properly enclosed, weather-resistant condition. On a 6000 it is worth being deliberate about where the unit hangs once it is back together. These are substantial energizers and they are often mounted in an outbuilding, a pumphouse or a shop corner where they take knocks. Mount it high, on a solid wall, clear of anything that swings or gets carried past, and out of direct spray from a hose or a wash-down. This case is listed for the 6000 and 6000i. Confirm against your unit's model and serial plate before ordering, since the housing has been through more than one revision. When it goes back together, check the cable entries and the seal. An energizer with a compromised case in an unheated building will draw moisture in every time the temperature drops, and that shows up months later as corrosion on the board.
