Speedrite rear case (1000, 2000, 3000)
A replacement rear case for Speedrite 1000, 2000 and 3000 energizers, for units where the housing is cracked but the internals are sound.
Details
The case is not usually what fails, but when it does the energizer is finished as a weatherproof unit. A cracked rear housing lets moisture into the electronics, and moisture is what kills energizers slowly. Replacing the case is far cheaper than replacing the unit. The common causes are impact, from a unit knocked off a wall, dropped in transit, or hit by something in a crowded shop, and a lightning event that blew the case apart from the inside. If it is the latter, the case is the least of what needs replacing, and the internals need going through before it goes back into service. This case is listed for the 1000, 2000 and 3000 series. Case tooling has changed across production runs, so confirm against your unit's model and serial plate before ordering rather than going by appearance. Make sure the seal and any gaskets go back correctly on reassembly. A case that is not sealed properly is no better than the cracked one it replaced, particularly on a unit that lives through a condensation cycle every day of the shoulder seasons.
