Details
The output transformer is what turns the energizer's internal pulse into the several thousand volts that appear on the fence. On a unit the size of the 36000RS it is a substantial component, and it is one of the parts that can be killed outright by a lightning surge coming back down the line. A failed output transformer usually shows as no output at all, or output that collapses the moment any load is put on the fence. It is worth confirming with a proper tester at the terminals with the fence disconnected before ordering. Plenty of units diagnosed as dead transformers turn out to be a shorted fence or a ground bed that has gone high-resistance over a few dry seasons. This transformer is listed for the 36000RS specifically and does not interchange with other models. Confirm against your unit's model and serial plate before ordering. If you are fitting one yourself, unplug the unit, allow full capacitor discharge time, and note the lead orientation before disconnecting anything.
