When the standard geared reel runs out of bobbin, this is the next size. Capacity is quoted at roughly 3,300 feet of polywire or 1,320 feet of 12mm politape, which covers a long lane or a full paddock division in a single reel rather than joining two. It runs a 3:1 gear ratio on a solid steel crank, so a long line comes in without an arm-numbing amount of winding, and the frame is galvanized steel with a rugged locking system to hold the bobbin where you set it. The frame is insulated from the spool, so you can leave the reel live and feed the fence straight through. It can be carried by the handle or mounted on a post and left. Warranty is five years. Bear in mind that 3,300 feet of wet polywire is heavy, and a mega reel loaded full is a two-hand carry. For daily strip grazing where the same short line goes out and comes back, the standard geared reel is easier to live with. Where this one earns itself is the long haul: quarter-section subdivision, lane wires, and anywhere joining two reels of wire would cost you voltage.
