Small screws in an energizer case get stripped, cross-threaded, or lost in the grass. Nothing is more frustrating than having the right board in hand and no way to mount it properly, so these are stocked separately. Using the correct screws matters more than it sounds. Over-length or wrong-thread hardware in a display board can crack the panel or press on the circuit behind it, and a board mounted loose will chatter and eventually fail again from vibration. The right screws seat the board evenly and let the case seal as designed. If you are opening an energizer, it is worth having a set on hand before you start rather than discovering the problem halfway through. Fitment across Speedrite energizer generations is not published in detail, so confirm against your unit's model and serial plate if you are working on an older or unusual unit. As always, unplug the energizer and let it sit before opening the case.
