Speedrite extreme wire 2640'
A 2640 foot roll of six-strand tinned copper polywire, built to carry voltage down long pasture runs with minimal loss.
Details
Extreme Wire uses six tinned copper filaments woven through UV-stabilized polyethylene, rated at roughly 17 ohms per 1000 feet. That is a different animal from ordinary stainless poliwire. Copper carries current with far less resistance, so the voltage you read at the energizer is close to the voltage you read at the end of the line. The 2640 foot roll is the size for whole-quarter subdivision, long lanes, and semi-permanent lines you leave up all season. On a half-mile run of stainless twine you can lose most of your punch before the wire ever reaches the last paddock, and copper strand wire is what fixes that without going to high tensile steel. White with a red weave keeps it visible to stock and to anyone on a quad. Joins matter more than most people think. Tie knots pull the strands apart and leave a resistive joint that will read fine in September and fail at forty below. Use proper joint clamps, keep the wire off the ground where snow can load it, and check voltage at the far end of the run rather than at the terminals.
