Speedrite extreme braid 660'
660 feet of quarter-inch braid combining four tinned copper and four stainless steel strands, for temporary fence that needs power and strength.
Details
Extreme Braid is the high-end temporary conductor in the Speedrite range. It carries four tinned copper strands for conductivity and four stainless steel strands for strength, in a 1/4 inch (7 mm) braid. Speedrite rates it at 68 times more conductive than standard poliwire. It is white with a red weave for visibility and UV stabilised for long life. That combination is what you want on a long temporary run. Stainless-only polywire loses voltage steadily over distance, so a fence that tests well at the energizer can be barely alive at the far end of a strip. The copper strands fix that. The stainless strands handle the mechanical side — braid takes tension better than tape and rides wind better than a flat conductor, which is worth something on open ground. Braid also reads well to horses and cattle, and the red weave against white keeps it visible against snow and dry grass. Run it off a geared reel, tension it by hand rather than cranking it, and use insulators that support the braid rather than pinching it — crushing the copper strands defeats the whole purpose. Join with proper clamps or wire links so metal meets metal; a knot in braid puts an insulator in the middle of your conductor.
