This is the can that lives under the sink. It handles the ordinary run of household insects — ants, spiders, earwigs, silverfish, flies, cluster flies, boxelder bugs and the rest of what wanders in — with contact knockdown on what you spray and residual activity where you apply it to surfaces and cracks. Where it earns its place is on entry points rather than open rooms. Spraying into the air accomplishes little; spraying along door thresholds, window frames, baseboards, the gap where pipes come through a wall, and inside the cracks around a basement window puts the product where insects actually travel. Most of what shows up indoors in late summer is coming in through a handful of gaps, and treating those beats chasing individual bugs. The other half of the job is not chemical at all. Weatherstripping a door, screening a vent, caulking a foundation crack, and moving firewood and leaf litter away from the wall will reduce what gets in more than any spray does, and it lasts. Read and follow the label — approved sites, species, ventilation, re-entry time, and where it must not be used. Cover or remove food and dishes, keep it away from fish tanks and off food-preparation surfaces, and keep pets and children out until it has dried and the space is aired out. Aerosols are flammable, so never spray near a pilot light, open flame, space heater or hot element. Store the can upright, above freezing, out of sun and out of reach of children.
