Ortho Animal B Gon Max Animal Repellent Ready-To-Use is a ready-to-use repellent solution registered with Health Canada as ORTHO® ANIMAL B GON™ MAX™ ANIMAL REPELLENT READY-TO-USE (PCP Reg. No. 32259, Domestic class), registrant Scotts Canada Ltd. The guarantee is denatonium benzoate 0.075%, and the label adds: "Contains sodium benzoate at 0.1% as a preservative." The label covers the 500 mL and 1 L trigger sprayers; this listing is the 1 L, and the bottle in the product photo reads "REG. NO.: 32259". It is an animal repellent — not a plant food or a fungicide. What the label covers: "This product can be used to control damage caused by skunks, dogs, cats, rabbits, raccoons, beavers, mice, rats, deer, squirrels, voles, porcupines and some types of granivorous birds, fruit eating birds and carrion crows." The use sites: "Spray on bark of trees, bushes, ornamental plants and flowers, bulbs, siding, fences, posts, garbage, and places visited by undesirable animals." It is for outdoor use only, and the label says: "Never use on food, edible plants or directly on the fruit or nuts of trees. Do not use on sugar maple trees, if sap is to be used, since the product could affect the taste of the maple syrup." How to apply, from the label: "Generously apply to dry surfaces. Do not apply on rainy or windy days." "Spray all surface to be protected until completely wet. Allow to dry before handling or re-applying. For additional protection, a second application may be necessary. Do not dilute! Do not mix with other chemicals!" "Annual re-application is advised." For the trigger sprayer: "Adjust spray nozzle to desired spray pattern and squeeze trigger to operate." On surfaces: "Before using on painted surfaces, test a small area to determine whether this product’s ingredients will damage the paint. Do the same with plastics and fabrics. If in doubt, test first!" Precautions, as printed: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, food and clothing. Abstain from tasting. The taste is extremely bitter and really unpleasant." "Do not smoke or eat while applying. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Wear chemical resistant gloves when handling product or contaminated equipment. Do not enter treated area until spray has dried. For outdoor use only." The label also advises that "as an added precaution a test should be made before applying." First-aid directions are on the label: "Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Product Registration Number, with you when seeking medical attention." Storage: "Store this product in cold areas away from heat." and, for the sprayer, "Rotate nozzle to closed position." Disposal: "Do not reuse empty container. Wrap empty container and discard in household garbage."
