Z Tags Z2 no-tear-tagger

Details
A two-piece tag and its applicator have to be designed together. The button has to arrive square against the back of the ear and lock into the panel in one motion, and if the tool lets either half wander you get crooked tags, tags that never lock, and ears that tear as the animal pulls back. The Z2 system was built around solving that, and this is the tool half of it. It takes Z2 two-piece tags in the sizes offered. The pin is a replaceable part, supplied in red so it is obvious at a glance whether the correct one is fitted, and swapping it is a bench job rather than a repair. Give it the same treatment you give any chute tool. Check the pin for burrs and straightness before a run, clear dried manure out of the jaw, and load a row of tags before the first animal comes in rather than fumbling one at a time. Store it out of the weather between seasons. A tagger that has spent a winter in a damp shed is the reason plenty of tagging days start badly.
