Universal Tag Applicator
A powder-coated alloy two-piece tag applicator that fits Herdsman and other Datamars two-piece visual and RFID button tags.
Details
This is the applicator for two-piece tags, the ones with a separate male rivet that pushes through the ear and locks into the back of the panel. It fits the Herdsman two-piece visual tags along with Datamars CalfHerder, Stockmen two-piece and ComfortEar Slim and Regular RFID buttons, so one tool covers both your management tags and your button tags. The body is powder-coated alloy and it locks closed for storage, which matters when it lives in a chute-side bucket or the back of a truck all winter. Load the female panel in the jaw and the male rivet on the pin, set it in the middle third of the ear between the cartilage ribs, and close the handles in one firm motion. Note that this is not the tool for Z1 one-piece No-Snag tags, which use their own one-piece tagger with a pivoting pin. If you run both systems, keep both applicators on hand and check which one you have grabbed before the first animal is in the headgate. Keep the jaw clean and disinfect between animals.
