Details
Chartreuse is the one you reach for when you need to find an animal fast. It carries further than most colours in flat grey light, dull winter afternoons and dust, which makes it useful for treated calves, twins, or anything you want to keep an eye on from the truck window. These are blank Z1 one-piece calf tags, 25 to a bag. Number them yourself with a livestock tag marker so you can run whatever system fits your records, then load and sort them before you start. The one-piece design has no back button or rivet to catch on wire, brush or feeder rails, and the self-piercing tip makes a small clean opening rather than punching a hole. At the chute you set the tag on the pin, place it in the middle third of the ear between the ribs of cartilage, and squeeze once. The applicator pin pivots as it goes through, so the ear is not pinned flat. These are management and visual ID tags, not approved CCIA traceability tags.
