Z Tags tag marking pen black
A black Z Tags marking pen for writing numbers on blank ear tags, formulated to work on tag plastic rather than paper.
Details
Every blank tag on the place depends on this pen. A regular felt marker puts ink on the surface of a tag where sun, rain and rubbing against a bale feeder take it off inside a season, and then you are catching cattle to find out who they are. Write in the house, not at the chute. Number your tags the evening before while your hands are warm and you can lay out a full bag in order, use the whole panel, and make the strokes heavy and blocky rather than tidy. Give the ink real time to dry before the tags go into a pocket or stack against each other, and go over the number a second time if you want it to last. Black is the standard for a reason. It reads on yellow, orange, chartreuse, pink, white and every other light tag colour in the range, which covers almost everything you will hang. Keep the cap on tight and store it somewhere it will not freeze, and keep a spare in the tag box, because a dead marker on numbering night stops the whole job.
