Every yard loses tags, and every replacement tag creates a small problem. The animal now carries a number that does not match what it arrived with, and six weeks later nobody remembers whether that was a re-tag or a data entry error. Running re-tags in a colour nobody else uses solves it at a glance. Purple is ideal for that job because it is not in common circulation. When you see one in a pen you know instantly that this animal has a history worth checking, and your records can carry a note against that number rather than a question mark. The same logic suits any small category where the exception matters more than the count. The run is factory printed from 1 through 1000 in sequence. These are one-piece Z Tags in the compact feedlot size, self-piercing, with nothing to assemble at the chute, applied with the Z Tags one-piece applicator. The printed number reads from front or back, which helps when an animal will not turn the right way for you. Bear in mind these are management and visual identification tags, not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
