Z Tags feedlot pre-printed tags numbered 1-1000 (Pink)
A thousand pink Z Tags feedlot tags printed 1 through 1000, the standard choice for identifying heifers by colour at volume.
Details
When a heifer pen is the whole point, the tag colour should say so before the number does. Pink is the near-universal shorthand for female cattle in this country, understood by hired help, truckers and buyers alike without anybody having to explain the system. At a thousand tags the application is usually a replacement heifer program or a heifer development lot. Everything female wears pink from the day it is processed, so a sort is a colour job rather than a reading job, and a heifer that turns up in the wrong pen announces itself. It also makes an inventory count from the fence line honest, because you are counting a colour rather than trusting a list. Numbers are factory printed in sequence from 1 to 1000 and can be read from the front or the back of the ear. The tag is Z Tags one-piece feedlot stock, compact enough to stay out of trouble around bunks and headgates, with a self-piercing cutting tip and single-squeeze application from the Z Tags one-piece applicator. They are visual identification and management tags. An approved CCIA tag is still required separately.
